Product Designer

Seymourpowell’s product design team is expanding and now has an opportunity for a confident and pro-active Product Designer. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Product Design and 3 — 6 years' experience of working as part of a team to develop design concepts, as well as working on projects independently. We are looking for individuals who can generate and clearly communicate inspiring ideas; from excellent sketch work through to the development of their designs in CAD. Of course, design is not all about styling. Seymourpowell looks for people who are great thinkers, who can understand and interpret brands, who appreciate how products interact with consumers, and ultimately can create solutions that bring together all of these parts. Designer, Transport Design Department

As Seymourpowell strengthens our transportation design capability, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious industrial designer to join our team. Based in our new Rail Design Centre in Derby, the ideal candidate should have between two and five years professional experience supporting interdisciplinary teams to deliver technically complex projects. Whilst experience in the rail sector would be beneficial, an understanding of manufacturing techniques is a must. They will be passionate about creating the elegant solution; visualising and developing appropriate forms to ultimately create a lasting and compelling product. Client Manager, Product Department

Seymourpowell’s design team has an opportunity for an experienced Client Manager to support the Associate Directors and Designers within our Product Design Department. Our work will cover strategy, brand development and defining product & service propositions that we will then deliver through design. The ideal candidate needs to have integrity, be honest, smart and humble. Ideally with 3-5 years experience of supporting Senior Directors managing large, complex projects and managing their own smaller budget projects. Whilst it’s not necessary to have a background in industrial design, a keen interest is a must. We’re looking for intelligence of approach, confidence when dealing with clients and internal stakeholders and passion about our offering. The candidate will need to engage with complex projects and be a support to the client and the internal Directors and design team.
